Interstitial lung diseases (ILD) are a heterogeneous group of diseases comprising 200 units. The most common and known diagnoses are sarcoidosis and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Separate diagnoses may have different etiological grounds. Diagnosis of this disease group is complicated due to the occurrence of similar symptoms in particular diseases. One of the main symptoms of ILD is dyspnea characterized by subjectivity. Therefore, in addition to objective diagnostic tools, subjective disease assessment tools - PROMs (Patient Reported Outcomes Measures) should be taken into account. An extremely important objective diagnostic tool is high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) of the chest. In some cases, the diagnosis can be made based on HRCT results and clinical data. The subjective tools used in the diagnosis and treatment of ILD include the MRC scale, the Borg scale and the Dyspnea – 12 questionnaire.
